About This Sample Combination Resume for a Supply Chain Manager or Analyst

Robyn (not her real name) has strong accomplishments, but she seems to have trouble holding down a job. Here's how we dealt with her employment issues on her resume.

  • History of employment gaps. Robyn disguised some of her employment gaps by listing only years, not months, in her Professional Experience section.
  • Spotlight on most recent job. Because her most recent job is relevant, Robyn made it the focal point of her resume. She did this by writing more bullet point achievement statements than she had for her other jobs.
  • Skill headings. By organizing her achievement statements under skill headings, Robyn broke her many bullet point statements into two groups, which made them more inviting to read.
  • Two college degrees. Robyn's two college degrees (under Education) are impressive but because neither are related to her job objective, they were placed at the end of the resume. If she had put the Education section high on page one, it would have highlighted her somewhat scattered career path.
